NEVER LOSE YOUR MASK AND SNORKEL AGAIN!!
It’s a great day, floating on top of the water!!!
EVER LOSE YOUR MASK AND SNORKEL WHILE SNORKELING OR SCUBA DIVING?
Now, instead of watching your mask and snorkel sink irretrievably into the depths of the ocean (where they will damage or kill coral and marine life), watch them float on the surface with this new, unique flotation device designed to stop your mask and snorkel from sinking when you’re swimming, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, free diving, or simply cleaning the hull of your boat.
SAVE THE REEFS! PROTECT THE OCEANS! DON’T LET YOUR MASK AND SNORKEL SINK TO THE OCEAN BED WHERE IT WILL KILL CORAL AND HARM MARINE LIFE!
Insert your snorkel into the SNORKELBUOY® as directed (https://www.snorkelbuoy.org/how-it-works/) , and forget about it. You just leave it in place forever! The correct placement has about two inches of the snorkel visible as it protrudes above the water’s surface. Once in place, it never needs to be removed. As long as your mask is securely attached to your snorkel with a strong snorkel-keeper, (which you can buy online or from any dive shop) they will both float. SNORKELBUOY® is designed to fit most hard snorkels (does not work on flexible/soft snorkels), and is suitable for both saltwater and freshwater use. It will support a GoPro mount and camera. The red and white colors resemble the colors of a “Diver Down” dive flag, with the diagonal white stripe.
The bright color makes the SNORKELBUOY® easy to see.
Works on DRY SNORKELS TOO!!!! Like this Tusa Hyperdry Elite II Dry Snorkel, fiddled around with it and it worked like a charm!!! It just took a bit longer to put on, but it was worth it.
SNORKELBUOY® fits most hard snorkels (not the very soft, folding snorkels, sorry).
Free Divers like to leave their snorkels on the surface – this is ideal for them!
The special buoyant foam should not affect the user’s buoyancy when SCUBA diving or snorkeling below the surface.
I put one on my camera strap too, so that floats as well and is easily visible on the surface, and of course, all keys are attached to one, including the boat’s fuel key and some basic tools.
SNORKELBUOY® IS NOT A SAFETY DEVICE ALTHOUGH THE APPEARANCE OF A FLOATING MASK AND SNORKEL WOULD CERTAINLY ALERT NEARBY SWIMMERS, DIVERS, DIVEMASTERS OR DIVE-BOAT CAPTAINS THAT SOMEONE HAD LOST THEIR MASK AND SNORKEL AND WAS POSSIBLY IN TROUBLE.
ALWAYS USE A DIVE FLAG IF YOU’RE GOING IN THE WATER! RISE AND SHINE EVERYONE! GET OUT THERE AND GET SNORKELING AND DIVING! PROTECT THE REEFS!
A DIVE FLAG MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE. IT’S AN ESSENTIAL PIECE OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT.
Can I use it while SCUBA diving? YES! Having a SNORKELBUOY® on your snorkel is great in case your mask and snorkel are knocked off your head while SCUBA diving (which has happened to me when getting too close to my dive buddy in front of me). I was lucky to be within a few feet of the seabed at the time so I was able to retrieve them easily. If I’d been diving a wall or in deeper water, I would have lost them forever and would have had to abort the dive immediately.
AN ADDED BONUS IS BEING ABLE TO SPOT YOUR “SNORKELER” IN A CROWD OF SNORKELERS
Other people have used it as buoyancy foam for their heavy underwater cameras. In fact, SCUBAVICE (in Fort Myers, Florida – a wonderful dive shop) told me they tested it on one of their large underwater cameras, it fit perfectly on the arms of the camera, and they thought it was great.
REEF MARKER BUOY
A friend of mine, a Master Scuba Diver (fewer than two percent of divers ever achieve this rating) and his dive buddy took the SNORKELBUOY® on a few test dives down to 30 meters (100 feet) in the Caribbean, it didn’t affect their buoyancy. They actually used one as a reef marker buoy, but made sure he did NOT harm the coral in any way (it was tied off to a weight so it was not attached to the reef in any way). TOP PRIORITY IS TO PROTECT OUR REEFS!
He had this to say about SNORKELBUOY®: “…we were doing a dive where it was helpful to mark the entry/exit point on to the drop. SNORKELBUOY® was perfect! We put about 2 feet of line on it, looping it through the opening – and then added a weight on the line. Presto: an instant underwater marker buoy. Another use for the Fabulous SNORKELBUOY®! …….Gotta say, I loved the marker buoy use. It REALLY solved a tricky problem of trying to identify the point on the reef to turn back to the shore. SNORKELBUOY® is so easy to transport for that and with a bit of line and a weight – bingo! We used it a few times.”
“The photos with SNORKELBUOY® on the woman diver’s snorkel are at about 18 meters (59 feet)…. I’ve taken SNORKELBUOY® to just below 30m (100 feet) and there were no problems at all…..”.
SNORKELBUOY® HAS BEEN DIVE TESTED SUCCESSFULLY TO 31.2 METERS (102.36 feet) BY A MASTER SCUBA DIVER, WHO FOUND IT HAD NO EFFECT ON HIS BUOYANCY (he’s 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 165 lbs). I know a lot of SCUBA divers don’t take snorkels with them when they dive – that’s a personal choice, but I know I always take one with me – if I surface far from the dive boat and I’m low on air, I like to switch to my snorkel while I make my way back to the boat. I was taught a long time ago that having a snorkel with me while I dive is a great safety feature – if you run out of air and have to make your way back to the boat, without a snorkel, how would you do it? Think about it before you do your next dive! I not only have my basic open water certification (classes done in Boston when I attended Boston University, open water instruction done in Puerto Rico), but got my Advanced certification in upstate NEW YORK in the middle of winter while I was at Cornell University – I must have been crazy! It was snowing at the time…. yikes! And every dive I’ve ever done, I’ve had my snorkel with me and it has proved invaluable if I’ve had to fin anywhere while on the surface, so I haven’t had to use up my air.
These pics below are pics taken by a Master Diver (thanks Tim!), someone who teaches Dive Instructors – it’s a super advanced level, much more advanced than being a Dive Instructor, so he knows what he’s talking about.
